APALACHEE HIGH SCHOOL TO RECEIVE A BELLA’S BUDDIES FACILITY DOG
On September 4, 2024, Apalachee High School experienced a crisis that has become an epidemic in America's schools. A student with a gun took the lives of two students and two teachers. There were physically injured and the emotional scars will be present for years to come. Like Uvalde, Santa Fe and hundreds of schools that have experienced violence that the media does not tell us about, students and staff at Apalachee are now faced with finding a path forward. Bella's Buddies has committed a golden retriever to Apalachee High School - one that is highly trained in post traumatic stress response, psychiatric and psychological task work and grief support. While volunteer therapy dog teams have volunteered immediately following this crisis, the Apalachee community has expressed the need for a permanent facility dog. Rally is currently training at Buffalo ISD and will be placed in January. Bella's Buddies can't do this without your help!
